We had gone to Rye on a Tuesday. Everything shuts in Rye at 3pm on a Tuesday. Don’t go to Rye on a Monday – nothing is open. Bizarre.
Rye is built on a hill, or hills. I saw it written down prominently in the Tourist Office, which was open until 3pm. We went out to investigate…

Yes. It is built on at least one hill…. which closes all day Monday and Tuesday 3pm – including the Half Term Holiday. Anyway, Rye also had a windmill as well:
