Search Engine Optimisation SEO
Search Engine Optimisation – SEO. In one easy Tweet.
On March 3rd I Tweeted: Waterloo Station – severe delays due to “Police activity on the lines” from 07:15am….. great!.
My blog is fed from my Twitter account using a WordPress plug in. Thus, my blog is updated when I Tweet – and vice versa. Between 08:28am and 10:am I was visited about 50 times to my blog by people searching from i-phones and using mobile phone web browsers trying to find out information on the delays at Waterloo station that morning.
As you can see I was 1st & 2nd out of 43,500 for Google searches that morning. Not bad for a dozen or so words that went out as a Tweet first.
So, let this be a lesson to all you Search Engine Optimisation gurus – if you have a well placed blog in Google, (as mine is), and you blog, (directly, or via a feed), on a highly topical subject of the day that people are sure to be searching for…. there’s a very good chance that people will find your blog.
Now all you have to do is to convert those visitors to regular returning traffic. Search Engine Optimisation is easy – it’s what you do with folk once they arrive is the clever bit.
