Philip Lynott Exhibition Hotpress Dublin. The Philip Lynott Exhibition – exclusive pics and a video as taken by me during a private guided tour. The organisers of the Philip Lynott Exhibition, (on at Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin, Ireland), are Hotpress – an established Irish music and political fortnightly magazine founded in 1977.

I was given a “behind-the-scenes” guided tour with insights into many of the exhibits at the Philip Lynott Exhibition. The Philip Lynott Exhibition, started in March 2011 and was originally set to end its run on April 4 – but was extended to world wide popular demand! I was told there’s one guy from Leeds, England who has flown over THREE times already to see the exhibition – there is so much in it!

Here’s a little sneak preview of the “Record Room” in The Philip Lynott Exhibition:

There are some amazing bit of memorabilia at The Philip Lynott Exhibition including the bike he used to ride delivering groceries hangs from the ceiling like this:

And the bike is opposite an enormous picture of Thin Lizzy playing Sydney, Australia to a 100,000 strong crowd – only 15 years later from riding that bike – brillliant!

Here’s another spectacular guitar picture from The Philip Lynott Exhibition:

Apparently, young Mr Lynott used to get the lighting guy to shine a spotlight on the reflective plate, (behind the strings), on the guitar so he could shine it on the face of “nice looking girls” in the first few rows. Pure speculation, of course – but a great rock n’ roll story! :)

I was absolutely blown away by the quality, depth and content of The Philip Lynott Exhibition. It’s on at Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin, Ireland. Here’s me looking ever so pleased in the video room:

The Philip Lynott Exhibition is not just a superb exhibition celebrating the life and works of Mr Philip Lynott, (and Thin Lizzy), but is also a great insight into the workings of a great rock n’ roll band. Old receipts and managerial records line the walls to show the historical rise to fame and fortune over the years. It’s amazing!

My advice is to get on over to Dublin NOW to see the magnificent Philip Lynott Exhibition whilst it’s still on. You won’t be disappointed!
