Facebook. It’s addictive isn’t it? Talking about Facebook in the “real world” is even stranger and slightly more uncomfortable. But having Facebook conversations on the mobile phone whilst in a packed train is probably the oddest of all.
I was travelling home on the ever popular C2C Cattle Trucks out of Fenchurch Street the other evening. At the far end of the carriage a young lady was blabbing away on her phone with a friend. They started to talk about Facebook. What could be more ironic - chatting about a social network system, but in a completely different medium - on the mobile phone? Well, it seems ironic to me
This particular Facebook conversation started off quite innocently with the girl in the train carriage asking her friend about some comments made on her Facebook profile. Then, the girl went straight for the jugular, (correct spelling! ;O ) vein - “Who was that guy I saw you cuddling with one one of your pictures?” HA! What a Facebook conversation this was turning out to be!
Anyway, the person on the other end of the mobile phone finally admitted that the person in the photo was someone “from work” and that they’d be going out “for a while”. This piece of information seemed to surprise the girl in the train carriage… And so the Facebook conversation chugged along - just like the train
But have you ever been caught out on Facebook? Have you ever posted something, (or had something posted on your profile), that you’d rather forget about? Or have you appeared in somebody else’s Facebook photo gallery - caught in an uncompromising situation?
Oh yes - I’m not “active” on Facebook nowadays - so please talk about me here ![]()
