Sue had got an Xmas prezzie gift voucher and we decided to split it – she got her nails done with a colour on them, and I got mine shaped, buffed, “glazed” – and had a hand “defoliation” – all very nice

How do I know that First Direct have the best current account, best bank account, and are the best UK Bank?

First Direct gave me an early Christmas present of £50 worth of Marks and Spencers vouchers for being with them for over 17 years.

That’s how I know that First Direct have the best current account, best bank account, and are the best UK Bank.

Change to First Direct for the best customer service and the best current accounts, best bank accounts – and being the best UK Bank.

This photo was originally posted over here: Old Picture Of The Day – this is an excellent old photo blog posting many, many old pictures – at least one day. Please go and visit Old Picture of The Day when you have a chance.

Anyway, someone on the Old Picture Of The Day blog asked if anyone knew where the picture was taken. So, me and Mrs F did some detective work to try to figure this out. Here we go…

1. In the background of the picture is an ad on the side of a building for “Veerhoff Galleries – Picture Frames”.

2. A Google/investigation reveals that “Wilhelm H. Veerhoff opened the original shop on 916 Seventh St. NW, selling wallpaper, window shades, frames and Victorian wall decorations.” – Veerhoff Galleries Close.

3. Number 2 – refers to 916 Seventh St. NW, Washington DC – Google Street Map Link To Georgetown, Washington, USA

4. Unfortunately, all the buildings have been knocked down, but if you take the Google Street map tour back up Seventh Street NW and turn onto I Street and look back down from the corner… you’ll get this view:

The only thing recognizable today is possibly the tree on the corner.

There. Mystery solved :O)

Kitty Printer Fax Obsession. Dr. Marie Haynes is a veterinarian in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada treating dogs, cats, and pocket pets. This kitty with a printer/fax obsession was a boarder at Dr Marie’s veterinary hospital.
